Program 05 — Rising Again
Anyone who starts something of their own gets told no and sees things fail. Rising Again is about what you do next.
You learn to read a rejection without taking it personally, to take a failure apart without tearing yourself down and to actually come back after a loss. You also learn something that is missing from many success stories: when carrying on is sensible, and when stopping is. This programme doesn’t romanticise persistence.
The lessons don’t come from a textbook but from the lives of entrepreneurs who were rejected, suffered heavy losses or saw something they had built fail, including Sara Blakely, James Dyson, Phil Knight, Paul Tudor Jones, Anita Roddick and Michiel Muller. Every lesson begins with a real moment from their story. Then you read what you can take from it for your own situation, and what you do with it today.
How it works
-
25 lessons in 5 parts: one lesson a day, about ten minutes’ reading.
-
Each lesson: a real moment, the lesson, why it works this way, an assignment and two questions to reflect on.
-
At the end you turn your key insights into your own rules for setbacks: short agreements with yourself that you keep using.
The five parts
-
Part I · The illusion of the straight line
-
Part II · Rejection
-
Part III · Failure
-
Part IV · Coming back in practice
-
Part V · Long-term resilience
